When it's time to talk business, I mean serious business it makes
good sense to talk to those persons who have toiled, achieved and succeeded.
They are the ones who have first hand knowledge about how things work.
Take for instance
T&T's Kirk Thomas-Makeup Artist extraordinaire, or Jamaica's renown Tyrone
Wilson- the Managing director of the electronic magazine company
eZines- they can tell you about the sacrifices they had to make in order to get to where they are today.
One things for sure, entrepreneurs must learn to be communicative,
curious, adaptable in order to cope with changing circumstances and most of all,
be self motivated because without that inner drive to succeed when things go wrong, they'd give up.
On another wave length, look at Sir Richard Branson, Global
entrepreneur. He is admired in may circles and today I want to highlight one of
his very profound quotes....here goes:
" Every
business, like a painting, operates according to its own rules. There are many
ways to run a successful company. What works once may never work again. What
everyone tells you never to do may just work, once. There are no rules. You
don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling
over, and it's because you fall over that you learn to save yourself from
falling over. It's the greatest thrill in the world and it runs away screaming
at the first sight of bullet points." Richard Branson
It takes special people to
succeed at business. Persons who have a broad back and a very tough backbone. This is what sustains them when they fall. These persons are also like
sponges, wherever they go, they absorb all the necessary knowledge that they'd need to make their
business work.
They understand the necessity of planning ahead. Don't believe me, try doing a wedding with 300 guests
without having any plans, even if you're an event planner, there would be chaos.
A plan allows you to see possible
challenges that you will encounter, the opportunities that exists, any
weaknesses you need to work on as well as the strengths you have working in
your favor.
Anyways, these were my little
tidbits today, hopefully, I encouraged you to think a little more about
business.
PEACE out :)
